9 years ago this super cute soccer stud that I was friends with, that I was fiercely crushing on, asked me out on a date on Valentine's Day. I thought he was kidding at first, but after a little convincing I said "sure why not". You know playing it cool even though my heart was about to jump right out of my chest! Well cool is not what I would describe my mind when thinking about what I was going to wear that night. After a tornado blew threw my room, I finally settled on a jean jacket, a tank top (bedazzled, of course), and jeans. I felt really cute, and my mom even took a photo of me because it was my very first date…ever.
So he rings the door bell, and my heart feels like its going to explode for the second time in one week. My stepdad answers it, because he has to do that "you better bring her back at a decent hour" thing that dads do, and then I so casually go to greet him. I remember how HOT I thought he looked with his shaggy hair and popped collar! (Eat your heart out ladies!)
That night was nothing short of magical and ended in a first dance and a first kiss.
That date left such an impression on me and went down in history as the most romantic, well thought out date I had ever experienced. Until 7 years later, in July. In the same place, to the same song, dancing in the same parking lot, that super cute soccer stud got down on one knee and proposed to me.
..cue the 'awe's, or the 'barf' noises.. whichever it makes you feel..
