Monthly Printables: August 2014

Months just seem to be blasting by me without any notice. I could have sworn it was May yesterday! Over the past few months, time management has been my most conscious improvement, but I will say.. The more focused I am with my day the quicker it turns into tomorrow.

Before August gets here, I am making a promise to myself to take 5 mins, yes just 5 mins, every few hours and just be still.
--Close my eyes, pray, get away from the screen, stretch, grab a cup of coffee, or walk outside--

What ever works for you, just take 5 minutes and do something that rejuvenates you. In the next few months, leave will be changing and this summer weather will cool off (hopefully, soon!) and it will be another season passed. So, embrace the one you are in while you still can. Just 5 mins.

---
Monthly with HBP is in the shop! I am especially excited about August for this reason! Also, if you are attending Gather-Athens like me, you may see one of this items in a swag bag!

Have a great week!

Worth the fight

via

As I make my way through LOVE DOES my perspective is changing on love. Particularly what it does to us and what we do with it. Because love does things. Love pays for a strangers dinner, love makes dinner for a sick friend, love shows gratitude for the tiniest favor, and love does things that show undeniable kindness.

It's a simple concept, but also seems very complex. But really if you think about it, Love is really simple and we are the ones who are complex. God is love and his love is easy, but we take into consideration convenience, awkwardness and self-benefit. Which makes us complicated…. why can't we just focus on God?

When we even question for a second if we should or shouldn't follow through with an act of kindness, that isn't love. Because love does things

Do something kind today that makes someone feel loved.

A Better Me - Monthly with HB

Monthly with HB

From time to time, I get really down on myself. I start to dwell on comparing myself to others or gauge my success by how many tasks I checked off on my list.. which isn't always a lot. So I really try to do something to better myself, whether its once a month, every few months, or a time or two a week. The world is just a better place when us women are happy, am I right? I designed these printables to fit a lifestyle of my own. Busy, busy and more busy. So incorporating something that would assist me in making me feel better about myself was completely necessary.
If you read my last post, you know about Monthly with HB. If you missed it, they click the link to read more about the purpose and how it can be used in your day-to-day. Inside of the Monthly with HB package of printables, each month you will receive a surprise printable that encourages you to be the best version of yourself. I like to call it "A Better Me" printable. April's ABM is all about out with the clutter and in with the clean fresh slate that we all need around this time of year. Broken down by room,  each task will help you gain that new start.
I know what you are thinking.."cleaning..really? that doesn't sound like a good time." Take it from me the anti-cleaning housewife, it can be fun… which is why I decided to break it down and give you a sneak peek of the rules sheet for Spring Cleaning.

Follow these steps:

Have some fun with it, and most importantly, don't forget to celebrate! Pre-order your April printables HERE

High Five for Friday

ITS FRIDAY and I am in LOVE... with this cute little girl. Stella says Happy Friday!

My top 5 for this week:

1. Every now and then during my work days, I take a small break to just regroup and take my eyes off of the computer screen. I should probably be taking a walk around the neighborhood or something productive like that, but instead, I decide to look at pretty things I can't afford. :)
Plus, my Dad got this magazine at his office and saved it for me (so sweet right?!) because he knows his daughter has expensive taste! HA!

2. I am so excited to get some new products in the shop! And this is just a sneak peak of some new things to come!

3. I got fun mail this week!! No Joke, I open the mail box and there are 5 bills (FIVE BILLS!!) and then a little gem hidden underneath! To make it even better, the note was thanking me for a note of encouragement I sent a few weeks ago. I love love love a friend who pursues me by one of my love languages! Truly special.

4. Stella has been learning so many new tricks and she is doing really well in her obedience classes at PetSmart! If you were looking into their classes for dogs, I highly recommend it! Right now, our biggest lesson we are trying to learn is not to chew on mommy's Hunter boots.

"You are the perfect combination of fun and boring", my valentine says.
5. If you ever find your self in downtown chattanooga, stop on by the Public House. Zack and I went there for our Valentine's date and it was such a great experience with great food, great wine and incredible carrot cake!! Plus everything is white.... Heaven!

Hope everyones week was wonderful! Mine sure was, but I am WORN OUT. So I will leave you with this sleepy image of my golden girl.

Fancy Freebie: Valentine Card

To my Valentine,
Thank you for loving me the way you do. In our almost two years of marital bliss, you continue to teach me things about unconditional love that I had never known before you. You harness my crazy, but embrace my creative ideas in such an accepting, supportive way. You vacuum because you know I hate to, and you wake up with me in the middle of the night just to pray with me if I am worried about something. You will never know how big of an impact your kind spirit continues to have on my heart. You make me a better person. Our date nights have changed from nice dinners out, to cozy dinners at home, and our conversations from what we are gonna do on the weekend to how ridiculous our electric bill was this month, but I wouldn't have it any.other.way. Living in the real world with you blesses me more than any other lifestyle I can think of. Cheers to you, my love. The man who knew me in my awkward days, but called me a  'hottie' anyways. Thank you for making this life we've made together, so darn magical.

I love you.

Happy Valentine's day!

New Art Prints : Spring Inspired

Hazel Berry Paper Etsy Shop

If you keep up on instagram, you know we had quite the snow yesterday. As much as snow is fun for a little while, until your fingers are frozen, I am majorly itching for spring! So as the snow fell yesterday, I was motivated to make it spring-y in this office!

Check out the new art prints: spring inspired, for Hazel Berry Paper!

When developing these, I wanted them to be fun phrases that would lighted up any room in your house. And as always, I wanted them to reflect Hazel Berry. Hope you enjoy them!

She is Hazel Berry

Sometimes in our day to day responsibilities and when we have put everyone's needs above our own, we forget who we are and what we stand for. Sometimes the reasons why we do what we do, or the really amazing qualities that we love about ourselves, get lost because of our never ending to do lists and comparison of others success.

Well it's time to give your self a few minutes to remember all of those lovely qualities that make your heart really special. When reading Emily Ley's '5 minutes' post this week, it struck a cord with me and made me give my self 5 minutes to gather my self, pray, and be reminded of the who Hazel Berry is.

Give your self a few minutes today.
HAPPY FRIDAY!

Gift Wrapping

Let's get gifting, y'all! My favorite time of year is upon us! Besides all the holiday cheer, mass amounts of Starbucks, and twinkly lights, I LOVE the holidays because this season is the perfect excuse to let my love language go wild! I love gifts and gifting! Probably to the point that I find any excuse to buy unnecessary things for people. You know, like when your that special person in your life buys you random things at yard sales because there is a smidgen of a chance you may want it or be able to use it some day.

Truth be told, that's never really happened to me...except when my mother-in-law bought us a wedding gift at a yard sale, refinished it, and gave it to us last year for Christmas. Y'all it ended up being the epitome of my wine rack dreams. Like World Market, Pier One, rustic glory. She did an amazing job.

But anyway, you get the point. This year I am challenging my self with less. Less stuff, more love. Less junk, more meaning. So along with that mantra, I also want it to capitalize on something else I am passionate about.

Pretty packaging!!

I will say that bursting open a present, wrapped in cheap paper with nothing but a sticky bow, has its perks. It's fun, messy, and swimming in the sea of torn paper always seems to bring so much joy! But I want to give my gift wrap just a little extra love and attention this year.

I came across these ideas to spruce up you gifts by using all sorts of fun things around you house! So let's take a look-y shall we?

via
I love the idea of just adding a touch of greenery to each of your gifts. It's free, pretty, and can be thrown away with out cringing because you spent moo-lah on it. We have some really pretty bushes outside our house that would look so lovely on our gifts! I am excited to use this idea.

via
How fun is this!? Using a photo as a gift tag is genius! You could use a holiday themed photo, or maybe its a snap shot of you and the friend receiving the gift! Endless possibilities.

via
Ok, cupcakes are my favorite. Any time I see cute cupcake liners I always snatch them because we all need cute cupcakes in our life! I love that this idea uses cupcake liners and cute a circle out of fun paper, drew an initial, and added some side ribbons. I love tagging presents with initials. Winning Idea!

via
There is a soft spot in my heart for plaid and flannel, and this bow is such a cute addition to a gift! I know I have a ton of loose fabric from leftover projects, but even if you don't, what about an old t-shirt you don't wear anymore?

What are some ways you plan to dress up your gifts this year?? I would love to see! Tag us on Instagram and hashtag #HBPGifts so we can see!

Habits // New Products!

Have you ever read the 'Encouragement for Today' posts on crosswalk.com?

I frequent on these daily devos. They are quick, meaningful and often so dead-on and relatable with my life in that moment. They are a great mid-day pick-me-up too!!

So about a month ago, I read this devo by Nicki Koziarz  titled "Habits of a woman who doesn't give up." It touched my heart in so many ways. It made me feel so grateful for the positive examples people have set for me, and even gave me a little self confidence boost, that even when I am tired, burnt out, and feel like I have nothing left to give, I can still do it. Giving up is one of those things that crosses my mind daily, but I just can't seem to do it. God's grace saves me every time!

Each point is so encouraging in its own way. So, I have designed a collection of Art Prints inspired by the 5 points in this message.  The points are as follows..

"Here are five habits I've discovered which characterize a woman who doesn't give up:
1. She gets up each morning and follows through with her commitments, despite how she feels.
2. She approaches the Word of God with reverence.
3. She longs for the grace of refinement rather than the grace of relief.
4. She chooses to invest in the world with joy.
5. She has a spirit of unbreakable determination.
What about you? What has God called you to do? Start by adopting one habit today and commit your work to the Lord.
Lord, thank You for filling me with purpose, faith and determination. Help me continue to do the work You've given me. Amen." (by Nicki Koziarz)
Read the full devo here

So that was a super long introduction, BUT totally necessary because Nicki's post inspired these prints that I am OH SO PROUD to show you! So without further ado…

Do you need a little encouragement in your daily routine? What is your favorite phrase or verse that motivates you? Which print do you relate with the most? I would love to hear it!

Hi Y'all! So something exciting is happening today, and I promise you are gonna want to be apart of it!
Everyday Bay blog is having a giveaway of some adorable products from three other shops, and you guessed it Hazel Berry Paper! I am so thrilled to be apart of it.
The theme of all of the products is "OH DEER".

Jerika, from Everyday Bay, asked if I would design a print specifically for this giveaway, and of course I said YES! I love coming up with new prints! But I ran into a problem. You see, I am a very indicisive person, so I designed two. So that means, whoever wins the giveaway gets a choice between the two art prints, to better fit your style or nursery! Head on over to Everyday Bay blog to enter!
Can't wait to send the winner their goodies!

If you enter this giveaway and do not win, you can still get your hands on those Art Prints!

REAL TALK: The Amber Housley Experience

Image via Amber Housley
I think the title of this post is totally appropriate. Two weeks ago,  I had the privilege to get a tiny peek into the Amber's Business brain and I must say how energized and motivated I was to take action after meeting her. I am so glad I was able to participate in the 'inspired session'. She gave me such great advice and most of all was just such a delight to speak with. Having someone 'get' my goals, and then give me such awesome reassurance and tools to assist my hard work, was so inspiring and a true kick in the rear. Anyone who is on the fence about if these types of things is worth it.. the money, the time, the advice.... I have one piece of advice for you.
Jump.
Just do it. It so worth it, and even though my to do lost grew, I felt as if I were growing along side of it.
And more importantly, If you stumble, God is there to catch our fall and remind us that he is right there the whole way.

In the
weeks since, I have really soaked up all I've learned. I really evaluated my true passion, my goals, and if I really want what I think I want.

The answer is yes, and the time is now.

"As I lay down my life
And pick up my cross
What a joy it is to give my life away to you
All that I need,
All that I seek
Is You here with me
Holy Spirit have Your way in me! "
