High Five for Friday

TGIF.

1. Well there's good news and bad news.
Good news first? Agreed.

So good news.. I received my BONLOOK glasses this week!

Bad news... pretty sure I should have done the virtual try on so that I could get a feel for how the square  frames would look on my face. Because it's not good. Or at least I'm not digging it. My husband thought they were cute and all my friends agreed and said "rock them. be fearless"...but I know that I will just end up not wearing them. SO, luckily, BONLOOK has amazing customer service, and they are helping me figure out which pair would best fit my needs and the look I am going for. Plus, they are  paying all shipping fees for the exchange. Pretty amazing right?!

OH, I almost forgot! They also sent a lollipop with my glasses. Which is definitely worth mentioning.

2. I will be doing this with this inspiring individual.  I am over the moon, jump on the couch, filled to the brim with glee, about this. I've been praying for the perfect opportunity, and I've found it.

So grateful.

3. I am making a new wreath this weekend. I found all of these online and decided that they were my favorites. All different, but all beautiful, and would make my door look legit. Craft Saturday is H.A.P.P.E.N.I.N.G.

inspiration board... so far
4. Since the weather has cooled off a little, we spend a lot more time on our back porch.  That area is probably one of the last areas in our home that needs a little TLC. So any time we are out there together, the brainstorming begins! It's been fun to think about what we could do. It's also kind of fun to think of the resources we will have to pull together to do this on a budget. Something about the challenge sets my heart on fire!

5. Best for last... I have the best husband. I know all of you are shaking your heads at me
(or vomitting), but truly.. he's such a GEM.
He made my lunches this week.
Let's be real... probably everyday.
You see, mornings are rough. Typically I don't feel awesome from lack of sleep, or just icky-ness.
Self, Don't forget grouchy.
So before he leaves, he makes my coffee, packs my lunch, and waits until I leave (if he can) to give me the warmest hug and kiss and to hand me my (very well made) lunch.
Sometimes I just need a little extra grace, which is why I can say he is the best. Because like our glorious savior, he gives me that little helping of grace when I need it most.

SIDE NOTE: Jesus would have made an amazing husband. Can I get an amen?!

Color Crush

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6

This month, I am loving anything and everything that reminds me of this glorious time of year. Nature is the greatest inspiration there is, so naturally, orange has stolen my heart this month!  I find myself incorporating it into everything I can! I might even be brainstorming a fall inspired art print. Stay tuned.

These are my favorite orange pieces that I've spotted lately.

Master Designer

I have recently become apart of this Manifesto, and I feel so proud to be apart of it. Darlene from Fieldstone Hill Design is behind all of this, and I couldn't be more blessed by her intentions of bringing us designers together in such a touching and powerful way. We may not deal with the same mediums, clientele or design in the same way, but we are all united by the one who call us to our purpose.
As designers, we love to create beautiful things. That is our passion, our calling and our service.

"I LIVE TO BRING GLORY TO GOD THE ULTIMATE MASTER DESIGNER.
He created beauty. He created all beautiful things. He created my passion for beauty and set that hoy in my heart."
That is my favorite part because it is a huge piece of my heart in sentence form. I'm so grateful for Darlene's kind heart and welcoming me into this lovely group or dreamers and doers. Also, a special congratulations is in order to Darlene and her family on their gorgeous baby girl.

Visit Fieldstone Hill Design and learn more about the Master Designer Manifesto. If you scroll to the bottom you will see Hazel Berry Paper sitting proud. :)

Happy Sunday!

High five for Friday!

I needed today's post. This week has been challenging in a lot of crazy ways. So making a point to take a moment and reflect on the High Five worthy moments this week, is just what to doctor ordered!
I bought my first pair of Bonlook glasses this week. I am probably overly excited about them, but getting to choose an adorable style and paying so much less than I typically do, means its worthy. Worthy!
I purchased the Dylan. ((Sounds so fancy)) Can't wait to get them!

Target gift wrap for Hazel Berry packaging??  Uh, yes please.

I got a pretty awesome opportunity/email reply from Jerika at Everyday bay! We will be doing a collaboration soon.

I made Apple Pie this week for the first time of my life. And.... it was a giddy success!

I say giddy because I was so full of joy and pride that it turned out really good, and i'm pretty sure my husband was just as excited and surprised.

Anyway, I got the recipe from This Little Estate Blog. The only change I made was the type of apples she used. I ended up using Braeburn and Golden Delicious. It was so good that I am making another one tonight and will FOR SURE be taking it to the next gathering where my Mother-in-Law is present.
Always good to keep impressing, eh!

I didn't get to get anything accomplished this week that I set out do to. Im sure you're thinking..
umm we are high fiving about this??
.. And no not exactly, but sometimes great things come in oddly wrapped and slightly beated packages.
I'm going somewhere good with this...promise.
This week challenged all of my being, but when you are down to nothing, GOD is up to something. And that my friends just made my life. God is good all the time. All the time, God is good.
Feeling grateful, and Choosing to focus on my blessings.

Well that was quite the weekend introduction. Let's savor September a little more, Shall we?

Swooning on Saturday

Good Morning! So far on this Saturday morning, I have enjoyed coffee on the deck, read a few more chapters in an amazing book, and put on my orange and white for the day... GBO!

Here is what I have been swooning over this week on Pinterest!

This will be my next business venture.

I've been having an obsession with Calligraphy lately.  I've got a long way to go, but I love the hand lettering look and how everyone's style is so different. Your style says so much about you and your personality. My hand lettering personality will be making its debut next week in a new art print for the shop. YAY!

I LOVE Lauren Conrad. She is such a classy individual with impeccable style. This photo obviously isn't her, but it is from her blog on her Geek Chic Style Guide post. I might have attempted this outfit this week... Come on, I know I'm not the only one who goes to Pinterest for outfit inspiration!

I need something new in the hair dept. I'm not adventurous with it these days. I used to be in my high school and early college years and it didn't serve me well. It brought to life my first what was I thinking moments. What I Love about Jessica Biel Timberlake's hair here is the very subtle ombre meets highlights look. I am not a huge fan of the I just dipped the bottom of my hair in bleach look, so this is more what I think I can handle. My hair girl might be getting a call next week....

Happy Saturday!

High five for Friday

IT'S Friday. All is good in the world again.

1. We got back from our mini vacation on Monday. It was the perfect way to say so long to summer and hello to fall! Even though its still a humid hot mess outside, Im gearing up for leather boots, apple cider, orange and white Saturdays, and pumpkin everything.

2. We bought a grill during all the Labor Day sales. You better believe we will be grilling fools this weekend!

3. My sister and brother in law are out of town for the weekend which means we are taking care of our niece! Don't get confused, it's not my new little diva of a niece. This little girl is furry and sheds all over our house (aka spreading her love), but none the less, still overflows my heart with the warm and fuzzies with her kisses and cuddles.

4. Rejuvenation. Can I get an amen?!

5. There is a new art print in the works for the shop with lots of heart behind it. I'm pretty excited to share it,with it's inspiration, hopefully next week!
